Role Details
The Senior Sport and Recreation Funding Consultant reports to the Manager, Funding Services and is responsible for leading the planning, coordination and organisation of assigned grant and funding programs.
The role is responsible for leading the end-to-end coordination of assigned funding programs. This includes the ongoing development, management and evaluation to ensure that grant programs are managed in a way which fair, equitable and transparent.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to ensure that the Senior Funding Consultant is able to consult and liaise regularly and effectively with the client base, other government agencies and the recreation and sport industry.
Special Conditions
- The Incumbent will be required to participate in the Agency's Performance Management Program.
- The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
- Some work outside of normal hours will be required.
- Some interstate travel involving overnight absences will be required.
- This role requires a National Criminal History check.

About the Department
The Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing (ORSR) is the lead South Australian Government agency for sport, active recreation and racing. ORSR supports sport and recreation organisations, local government, and the community by providing leadership and support through the development and delivery of funding, policy, programs, infrastructure planning and management, and high-performance pathways.
About the Business
The Strategy and Investment division plays a central role in strengthening ORSR's performance, reputation and strategic direction. Through its communications function, it enhances the organisation's profile and public presence, while its business operations and governance teams provide specialised corporate support and advice. Informed by market intelligence, research and evaluation, the division generates industry insights which shape strategy and improve sector outcomes. The funding services team administers the Sports Vouchers Plus program and manages the assessment and allocation of grants across one off, term and ongoing programs that support industry priorities. The division also leads commercial and partnership opportunities that leverage ORSR's assets to drive sustainable revenue and maximise value.
