Role Details
The Sport and Recreation Funding Consultant is a customer facing role that provides direct support to sport and active recreation organisations seeking financial support through an ORSR grant program. As a member of the Funding Services team, The role is responsible for the efficient and effective administration of ORSR’s active recreation and sport grant programs including processing and assessing funding applications, providing support to program development and maintaining effective partnerships with key stakeholders.
To perform the role effectively, the Sport and Recreation Funding Consultant provides a high level of customer service to representatives of clubs, associations and other organisations seeking assistance with their grant application.
The role reports to the Manager, Funding Services and works as part of a collaborative team. The role maintains strong working relationships with the sport and recreation sector to ensure stakeholders are aware of the funding opportunities available and encouraged to submit applications for funding of programs and projects which can deliver opportunities for South Australians to be more active.
Special Conditions
- The Incumbent will be required to participate in the Agency's Performance Management Program.
- The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.

About the Department
The Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing (ORSR) is the lead South Australian Government agency for sport, active recreation and racing. ORSR supports sport and recreation organisations, local government, and the community by providing leadership and support through the development and delivery of funding, policy, programs, infrastructure planning and management, and high-performance pathways.
About the Business
The Strategy and Investment division uses market intelligence, research and evaluation to understand and share industry insights and to devise strategy to enhance the ORSR performance and industry outcomes. The division administers the Sports Voucher program and the assessment and allocation of grants for a range of industry priorities and outcomes through one-off, term and ongoing programs. This division is also responsible for corporate services and governance and is the conduit into the host department and broader government.
