Role Details
The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for the preparation of complex financial reports and reconciliations, and undertaking financial analysis. The role manages portfolio financial systems and provides expert guidance on financial issues to the finance team and customers. The Senior Financial Accountant assists with the implementation of machinery of government changes and undertakes activities to assist with the implementation of the Finance Reform Program.
Special Conditions
- The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.
- The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
- Some work outside of normal hours will be required.
- Some interstate travel involving overnight absences will be required.
- This role requires a National Criminal History check.
Essential Qualifications
- A degree qualification in commerce, accounting or finance, majoring in accounting.

About the Business
The Finance and Procurement team provides high quality financial and procurement services to Department of the Premier and Cabinet (DPC) business units and attached offices.
Our Finance team provides services including corporate reporting, management accounting and strategic financial management. Our Procurement team provides procurement and contracting advice and support to DPC staff at all stages during the procurement and contract management life-cycle.
