Role Details
The Project Coordinator, Building Works is responsible for overseeing project planning and design, and being the key liaison with the Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) as project delivery agency. In particular, the role will be the ORSR project lead and take responsibility for the client-side delivery of the following priority projects:
• SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre De-Gasification Project
• Adelaide Super-Drome Track Upgrade Project
• The Parks Recreation and Sports Centre Renewal Project
The role involves ensuring major projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with the project brief. The Project Coordinator, Building Works reports to the Manager, Major Projects, provides advice to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and represents the Agency on Project Control Groups.
The Project Coordinator, Building Works collaborates closely with internal stakeholders, external stakeholders, consultants and various professional disciplines to deliver projects that meet government and community needs.
Special Conditions
- The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.
- The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
- Some work outside of normal hours will be required.

About the Department
The Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing (ORSR) is the lead South Australian Government agency for sport, active recreation and racing. ORSR supports sport and recreation organisations, local government, and the community by providing leadership and support through the development and delivery of funding, policy, programs, infrastructure planning and management, and high-performance pathways.
About the Business
The Infrastructure and Planning division provides a strategic and integrated approach towards the development and delivery of recreation and sport infrastructure and works to build diversity, strength, capacity and sustainability with industry clients and the community. The division is responsible for a number of the State's key sporting assets, including major sporting venues such as the South Australian Sports Institute, Mile End Sports Complex, SA Athletics Stadium and Adelaide Super-Drome. It undertakes development planning, construction, project management, facilities management, and recreation trails development and management.
