Role Details

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Product Owner to join our team in the Department of Premier and Cabinet, playing a crucial role in driving the success of our digital products and services. As the Product Owner, you will collaborate closely with the Product Manager, stakeholders, and delivery teams to ensure alignment with our vision and roadmap. Your primary responsibilities will include analysing and decomposing features into user stories, prioritising and maintaining the backlog, defining sprint goals and acting as the key liaison between customers, stakeholders, and scrum teams.

Playing a key role in the implementation of our product strategy and roadmap will be at the forefront of your responsibilities, ensuring that our products meet the needs of our customers and support the delivery of relevant programs. You will also play a pivotal role in the functional design process, leveraging your deep understanding of users and technology to ensure that our products and features meet specifications required for user needs.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for obtaining necessary approvals for user stories, ensuring alignment with divisional and departmental security programs and policies, and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve objectives and influence product improvements. Building strong working relationships with stakeholders and effectively documenting complex business requirements into user stories will be essential aspects of this role.

Additionally, you will continuously review business needs, refine priorities, outline milestones and deliverables. Your role will also involve liaising with the architecture lead for our products to create enabler stories and the role participates in risk identification and management activities for the product.

As the successful candidate, you will possess high-level interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to build strong and constructive relationships, and experience in supporting the lifecycle management of a product, particularly evolving and shipping digital products.

You will have a proven track record of ensuring all stories delivered meet the definition of done and have a wealth of experience working within agile frameworks. This position reports to the Product Manager and requires close collaboration with delivery teams, product vendors, senior leadership within the division and internal subject matter experts.   • The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
