Role Details

The Coordinator General’s Office (CGO) plays a pivotal role in driving major and complex projects that support South Australia’s economic, social, and environmental priorities. We are seeking an accomplished leader to join our team as Project Director. In this role, you will provide high-level oversight, reporting, and management of the CGO’s entire program of work. You will lead a small team of experts delivering strategic projects and collaborate with other Directors to facilitate the successful delivery of significant State and private sector initiatives in line with the State Development Coordination and Facilitation Act 2025. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee and manage the CGO’s program of work, ensuring alignment with government priorities. • Lead a high-performing team to deliver complex projects on time and within scope. • Work collaboratively with senior stakeholders across government and industry. • Provide strategic advice and reporting to the Coordinator General and other key decision-makers. About the Business

The creation of the Coordinator General’s Office is a key feature of the State Development Coordination and Facilitation Act, which recently passed Parliament.

The legislation aims to address challenges and delays in assessment and approval processes, while critically maintaining South Australia’s high levels of statutory protection.

Overseen by the Coordinator General, the new mechanisms will help manage a growing number of urgent and significant projects, including those involving housing, decarbonisation, and AUKUS, in a timelier manner.
