Role Details

As a DPC Graduate, you’ll play a key role in shaping South Australia’s future through work that drives policy development and delivers on Government’s priority projects. Whether contributing to evidence-based policy, managing cross-government initiatives, or supporting strategic reform, your work will have real impact.

As part of this role, you may be involved in:

  • Developing and supporting public policy that informs decision-making and delivers outcomes for South Australians.
  • Actively engage in research, analysis, task management, problem solving and supporting stakeholder engagement to help inform decision making.
  • Collaborating and contributing to the design and delivery of high-impact projects aligned with government priorities.
  • Supporting reform agendas and continuous improvement across the public sector.

In addition to meaningful project and policy experience, you will participate in a structured Graduate Professional Development Program, delivered in partnership with the Department of Treasury and Finance and the University of Adelaide. You will also benefit from mentoring opportunities, career coaching, cultural awareness training, and executive leadership exposure — all designed to support your development and long-term success in the public sector.

As part of this program, DPC are seeking to fill opportunities in the following areas:

Special Conditions

  • The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.
  • The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
  • Some out of hours work may be required, as well as some intrastate travel with overnight absences.
  • This role requires a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.

Duration

Ongoing position following a 24-month Graduate Program designed to set you up for a successful career in the public sector.

Eligibility

The following eligibility criteria applies:

  • Availability: Commence February 2026.
  • Location: Working in an Adelaide CBD office location, incumbents must be able to travel independently to all work or training locations.
  • Qualifications: You must have completed an undergraduate or post graduate Australian University qualification in 2022 or later, or must have completed a qualification before your commencement date in a Graduate Officer role. Preferred disciplines include: business, commerce, law, economics, social policy, project management and related disciplines.
  • Visa Holders: You must hold a VISA with acceptable work conditions from the commencement date of your employment. You will need to provide details of your Visa status so this can be confirmed prior to any offer of employment.
