Role Details

ROLE PURPOSE: The Senior Program Officer will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of the Multicultural Community Fund initiative and its associated grant funding to support developing and upgrading community infrastructure facilities. The role involves providing expert advice on all aspects of the Fund, ensuring strict compliance with program guidelines, driving efficient and effective program operations, and identifying opportunities for program improvement. The role also requires building strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, contributing to strategic directions, supporting internal teams and fostering collaboration across the department. KEY OUTCOMES OF ROLE: 1. Develop and implement comprehensive funding guidelines and procedures for the Multicultural Community Fund 2. Identify and pursue opportunities to expand the Fund’s reach and enhance its overall impact 3. Provide expert advice on all aspects of the Fund and ensure strict compliance with funding guidelines, organisational policies and reporting obligations 4. Prepare detailed reports, recommendations, and briefings on funding outcomes and program performance 5. Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders to support program development and delivery. 6. Effectively monitor and manage risks and actively contribute to quality assurance measures 7. Drive efficient and effective program operations, and identify and implement improvements to processes related to funding administration and service delivery 8. Coordinate activities across the funding cycle, including grant disbursements, acquittals, and the maintenance of grants management system, in collaboration with the Grants Team 9. Maintain adherence to public sector governance, financial management, and relevant legislative requirements

Special Conditions

  • The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.
  • The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
  • Some work outside of normal hours will be required.
  • This role requires a National Criminal History check.
